Sport psychology focuses on learning how to control your thoughts, feelings and actions in order to reach your potential and excel in your sport. The goal of a sport psychology program is to improve the performance of every athlete by integrating mental skills with their tactical, technical and physical training. This usually involves learning how to mentally prepare and focus for training and competition.

Sport psychology also includes strategies for improving the quality of one's life outside of sports. Athletes involved in a sport psychology program will learn and develop mental skills that will help them excel in their sport and in other areas of their life. Ultimately, sport psychology will help athletes become balanced, focused, successful and clutch.
